Subscription and Application Fonts
Using Subscription Fonts
Adobe and other font foundries give you the option of licensing their fonts through subscription services. Some of these services make the fonts available in standard file system locations, some in proprietary locations and others in hidden locations. Each of these services has its own font activation software that runs independent of Windows and FontAgent.
Using Application Fonts
Some Windows applications install their own fonts, and place them a non-standard folder in your Windows file system. When this occurs, you might notice one of the following conditions:
- Fonts listed in the Fonts menu vary from application to application
- Those fonts appear in the application’s Font menu, even though you haven’t activated them
Beware of Moving Application Fonts
If you want to manage application-specific fonts, please check with the application’s developer to determine which fonts can be moved without crippling the app. If fonts can be moved, you can import them into your FontAgent database and manage them alongside your other fonts.
